This policy explains what information the Handball at hand app (Balonmano a mano in Spanish, Eskubaloia eskuan in Basque, Handbol a mà in Catalan) processes, and why. It is an independent project built by a fan, with no official connection to the Royal Spanish Handball Federation or to any of the clubs or competitions it covers, and it is designed to process as little data as possible.
1. Who is responsible
hegonax is the data controller. Contact: [email protected].
2. What data is processed
The app has no accounts and no sign-up. It never asks for your name, email, phone number or any other identifying detail, and there is no way to log in. Specifically:
- Your favourite clubs and settings (language, which alerts you want) are stored on your device only. They are never uploaded to any server or tied to an identity, and they are gone when you uninstall the app.
- Requests to the app's server: to build the "My matches" screen, the
app asks its own server for the fixtures of the clubs you picked, sending their
identifiers in the query (for example
?equipos=bidasoa,bera-bera). There is no session and no user identifier: the server returns public fixtures and stores neither who asked nor what they asked for. - Push notifications: if you turn them on, your device gets an anonymous identifier from Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and subscribes to the topics matching your clubs and chosen alert types. That identifier never reaches our server: we send an alert to a topic — "whoever follows this club" — never to a specific person. We do not, and cannot, know who is subscribed.
- Advertising identifier: the app shows one banner through Google AdMob to cover the cost of the server. AdMob may process your device's advertising identifier. Before anything is shown you are asked for consent through Google's own form, which is mandatory in the European Economic Area, and on iPhone and iPad the system also asks whether you allow tracking. Saying no leaves the app fully working; the only difference is that ads stop being personalised.
- Store data: Google Play and the App Store collect installation and crash statistics under their own policies, which are outside this app.
The app carries no analytics of its own: which screens you open and how long you stay are not measured. It does not access your location, contacts, photos, calendar or microphone, and there is no way to post or share anything.
3. What it is used for
- Showing fixtures, standings, squads and statistics for the clubs you follow. All of that content is public and needs nothing from you.
- Sending the alerts you chose (match start, half-time and full-time) for the clubs you follow, in the app's language.
- Showing the banner that pays for the server.
4. Who it is shared with
No data is sold to anyone. The only third parties involved are:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): delivers push notifications and processes your device identifier under its privacy policy.
- Google AdMob: serves the banner and may process advertising identifiers under that same policy.
- Royal Spanish Handball Federation: the source of the sports data. It receives nothing about you, because the app's server queries it, not your device.
5. How long it is kept
Your clubs and settings live on your device for as long as the app is installed. Google keeps the notification identifier while the app is installed and alerts are on; uninstall the app or turn them off and it stops being used and is invalidated. There is no personal history to keep on our server, because none ever arrives.
6. How to delete your data
Since everything of yours lives on your device, uninstalling the app deletes it all. If you only want the alerts to stop, turn them off in the app's settings or in the system's. There is no account to close and nothing to request.
7. Your rights
If you have questions, write to [email protected]. Because no identifying data is collected, there is no "profile" of yours to access, correct or erase. You can withdraw advertising and tracking permissions at any time from your device's privacy settings. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
8. Children
The app shows general-interest sports content and is not specifically directed at children. As no identifying data is collected, the risk is the same as for anyone else.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the date in the header will be updated.
